The Friends of Robert Owen House
An Isle of Man Registered Charity, number 839
In a nutshell, we are an Isle of Man charity dedicated to raising funds in support of Robert Owen House. The House is a bed and breakfast facility in the grounds of the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (part of the Broadgreen Hospital campus) where relatives and carers of patients at the hospital can stay overnight (or longer) in secure, friendly and close accommodation. Whilst available to the whole of the hospital’s catchment area, the facility is used extensively by Isle of Man residents. For more information about us, the House and the Hospital, please follow the links above.
For Island residents accommodation at Robert Owen House will normally be arranged by request through Patient Transfers, but you can call the House directly on 0151 600 1688. Please note that rooms are allocated on a strictly ‘first come first served’ basis. There is a charge of £20 per night (ensuite) or £17 per night (no ensuite).

May 5th. A field of some 85 walkers, plus 2 dogs, a pink wig and a blue crayon, set off on the 9th Annual ‘Walk The Southern’. Joining us for the first time were some of the girls from the Arbory Brownies, and two of their members penned a delightful poem to commemorate the event :-
Preliminary figures show the Walk has raised at least £2500! Thank you everyone for a great effort on a very fine day!

My family and me
For the Robert Owen House
It’s the best you see
My Grandma has used it and my Grandad too
So we’re doing this walk to keep it going
It’s the best thing to do
We’re raising lots of money
So let’s hope it’s sunny
If it isn’t it won’t bother us
So we won’t cry or make a fuss
So come and join the fun.
The 5th of May a very special day
For a sponsored walk
You can bring your dog
Write about it on a blog
With lots of people you can talk
We’re doing the walk
